Polish Keyboard Plugin 5.0

The Dictionary plugin for Multiling O Keyboard enhances autocorrect and word prediction functionalities, allowing for a more seamless typing experience in Polish.

Installation Instructions:

1. Install the Dictionary plugin along with the Multiling O Keyboard from this link: Multiling O Keyboard.
2. Launch the O Keyboard and follow the setup guide provided.
3. Switch between languages by sliding the space bar.

Overview of the Polish Language:

Polish (język polski, polszczyzna) is a Slavic language predominantly spoken in Poland, serving as the native language for the Polish people. It is classified within the Lechitic subgroup of West Slavic languages and holds the status of an official language in Poland as well as one of the official languages of the European Union. The Polish alphabet comprises additional characters that enhance the basic Latin script, including ą, ć, ę, ł, ń, ó, ś, ź, and ż.

Despite historical challenges to its use due to pressures from Austrian, German, and Russian administrations in the 19th and early 20th centuries following the Partitions of Poland, Polish has maintained a rich literary tradition. Today, it boasts the highest number of speakers among West Slavic languages and ranks as the second most widely spoken Slavic language globally, following Russian.

Polish has historically played a crucial diplomatic and academic role in Central and Eastern Europe. Currently, over 38.5 million people speak Polish as their first language within Poland, with additional communities speaking it in parts of Belarus, Lithuania, Ukraine, and regions of the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The global Polish-speaking population exceeds 40 million due to significant emigration waves post-World War II, with notable communities in Australia, Brazil, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
